Business Taxes: Margot Dorfman Explains Why Extending Tax Cuts for Rich Won't Help
December 7, 2010
Margot Dorfman, CEO of the US Women's Chamber of Commerce, is interviewed on the Boss Business Brief and explains her opinion that extending the Bush-era tax cuts for the rich will not help the economy. Her belief is that extending the tax cuts for the higher end wage-earners will only mean the rich will "hoard" the money - keeping it out of the economy. She voices the opinion that it would better if the monies (an estimated $700B over 10 years) were to go to the government.
This is an alternative view to what most business advocates state and if fairly interesting. Mike Siegel, who conducted the interview, presses Ms. Dorfman on any studies that support her theory.
